Committee Purpose                                                                                          


Plan, promote, and implement formal surveying educational programs.  Function with respect to the UCLS scholarship process as directed by the State Board.

General Eligibility

(See specific scholarship information for particular eligibility requirements)

Applicants must have the intention of taking the national Fundamentals of Land Surveying (FLS) exam and the final exam for licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).  Most of the scholarships also require Utah state residency and are studying a curriculum leading to a career in the Land Surveying profession.

 

Utah Council of Land Surveyors (UCLS) ($1000 per semester)

Roger Monsen Land Surveyor Scholarship (SLCC) $2,200 ($ 1,100 per Semester)

Note: This privately-funded scholarship is for surveying students who will be enrolled in the Salt Lake Community College 2-year AAS Surveying Technology Degree during the 2006-07 academic year.

 

American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) $1000 to $2000

Deadline: December 1st 2006 (for 2007)

Must be pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or Graduate degree in Land Surveying

 

Western Federation of Professional Surveyors (WFPS) $1200

Deadline: March 31, 2006 (for Fall 2006 and Spring 2007)
