The Utah Council of Land Surveyors (UCLS) Color Country Chapter would like to invite you to a special meeting to discuss several upcoming changes and updates that may affect surveying, engineering, and GIS professionals working in and around the City of St. George.

Date: Thursday, October 15, 2026
Time: 11:00 - 1:00
Location: City of St. Geroge City Hall (61 S Main Street)
Lunch: Lunch will be provided at a cost of $10 per person

The meeting is intended to provide an opportunity to review and discuss the changes currently being developed, including:

  • Moderized National Spacial Reference System Update
  • Updates to the City's survey monumentation and Horizontal Control Network ordinance
  • The transition from the existing HCN to the future St. George Reference System (SGRS)
  • Updates and changes related to SGU1 and SGU2
  • GPS/GNSS data collection, processing, and submission requirements
  • How these changes may affect surveying and engineering projects
  • Coordination with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS workflows
  • An opportunity for surveyors, engineers, GIS professionals, and others who use GPS/GNSS equipment to ask questions and provide input

Who should attend?

We encourage anyone involved in using or processing of GPS/GNSS data to attend, including licensed land surveyors, survey technicians, engineers, CAD users, GIS professionals, and others within surveying and engineering firms who may be affected by these changes.

The meeting is expected to last approximately two hours, so please plan accordingly.

This meeting is intended to be an opportunity for open discussion and coordination. We would like to hear from those who are working with these systems and understand how the proposed changes may affect your day-to-day workflows.

Please RSVP to Todd Jacobsen ([email protected]) so we can get an accurate headcount for lunch.

We hope you can join us and provide your input as we work through these changes together.
